Eight Pairs Of Drivers And Eight KTM X-BOW GT4s Starting In Zandvoort!
The “REITER YOUNG STARS" are at the start again in Zandvoort with eight KTM X-BOW GT4 racing cars and a total of 16 drivers who will be fighting for the points in the “RYS” competition, but also for the best possible results in the GT4 European Series.
The battle for the lead in the REITER YOUNG STARS overall standings is set to be particularly interesting. After three of five events and six of ten races, it is Norway's Mads Siljehaug in the lead with 93 points in front of his Belgian team colleague, Jamie Vandenbalk of RYS Team InterNetX, who has 80.5 points. Arne Hoffmeister is still in third place, but will not be starting in this race, giving fourth placed Lenny Marioneck of Germany (presently on 66 points) a good chance of picking up more. He did not start at the Slovakiaring but returns to the competition in Zandvoort to occupy the cockpit of the RYS Team KISKA KTM X-BOW GT4, where he will share the driving with local driver Willem Meijer. And someone who has not given up the fight for the overall victory is the young Austrian driver Eike Angermayr, who was a very impressive race winner at the Slovakiaring. Although he is relatively far behind in the points, currently with 53.5, he wants to go for the victory for the RYS Team KTM, together with his co-driver and fellow Austrian Reinhard Kofler.
Meanwhile, driver duo Eduard Anton (ROM) and Austrian Achim Mörtl, who are racing for RYS Team Schönramer/Racecom/Neptun are focusing on collecting points in the AM - class. Returning to the cockpit after his wild crash at the Slovakiaring Mörtl wants to help his teammate to pick up as many points as possible in the AM standings of the GT4 European Series. Another REITER YOUNG STARS driver-duo who aim to take as many points as possible, despite some bad luck in the last races, is the women's team of Swiss driver Marylin Niederhauser and South African Naomi Schiff (RYS Team WP). The same applies to the RYS Team Holinger pair Emil Westman (FIN) and Samuel Sladecka (SLO), or RYS Team Pankl drivers Benjamin Mazatis of Germany and American August Macbeth.
No less motivated are the student teams, who work with the regular Reiter Engineering team to look after the various racing cars. Currently, it is “RYS Team InterNetX” with 265 points in the lead. “RYS Team WP” (252.75 points) is in second, and RYS Team Pankl (251.5 points) is currently third. Both the minor placed teams are within striking distance of each other and the leader. They and their respective drivers can look forward to plenty of work over the Zandvoort race weekend because rain is forecast at the Dutch circuit for the races on Saturday and Sunday. There is also a lineup of 30 other competitors.
